The Odisha Government has decided to form an experts' panel to decide the evaluation criteria for the results of Class 12 board examinations.
The Plus Two exam conducted by the Council of Higher Secondary Education (CHSE) every year was cancelled by the State Government on Friday keeping in view the safety of students amid the Covid-19 pandemic.
School and Mass Education Minister Samir Ranjan Dash said that the Chief Minister has directed for the formation of a committee comprising experts which will decided the evaluation criteria for the results of the Class 12 examinations.

"In the meantime, the Supreme Court has asked the CBSE and ISCE to arrive at in two weeks the parameters of the evaluation criteria to be adopted to assess the students of Class 12 after the cancellation of exams. Our expert committee will take into consideration the marking pattern adopted by the CBSE and ICSE," he stated.
Dash further stated, "The Plus II students of the State will be evaluated keeping in mind the marking scheme suggested by the expert panel. The expert panel will be constituted within 15 days and as soon as the body comes up with suggestion, the results for Class 12 examinations will be declared," the Minister said.
"The State Government will try to declare the Class 12 examinations as soon as the CBSE and ICSE announce results so that our students do not face any problem in getting admission into various colleges and educations institutions across the country," Dash assured.
It may be noted that around 3.5 lakh students in arts, science, commerce, and vocational streams were scheduled to appear for the Class 12 annual examinations.
The decision to cancel the examination by Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik has evoked mixed response among the students, their parents and educationists in Odisha.
