CBSE launches Continuous Professional Development for teachers

The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has started a special drive for the Continuous Professional Development (CPD) of teachers in all its affiliated government and government-aided schools. This is in line with the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020 which states that every school should ensure the participation of all its teachers in at least 50 hours of Continuous Professional Development (CPD).

As per the CBSE Bye-laws, each teacher is also expected to participate in at least 25 hours of training programs conducted by the Board in a year. Similarly, the remaining hours will be covered from other sources which will be arranged by the Education Departments of concerned States/UTs.
