The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) released the examination schedule for the Central Teacher Eligibility Test (CTET) on Wednesday.

According to a notification issued by the Education Ministry, the CBSE will conduct the entrance test from 9 January 2023 to 7 February 2023.

All the examinations will be held through Computer Based Test (CBT) Mode, the notification stated.

"The Ministry of Education, Govt. of India has entrusted the responsibility of conducting the Central Teacher Eligibility Test (CTET) to the Central Board of Secondary Education, Delhi. Accordingly, Central Board of Secondary Education has fixed the dates for conducting the examination during 09.01.2023 to 07.02.2023 through CBT Mode (Computer Based Test). The examination will be conducted in approximately 211 cities across the country.

CBSE CTET 2022 Exam Details

  • Candidates can appear for the CTET 2022 in 20 languages at examination centres across the country.
  • The CBSE will conduct the test in CBT (Computer Based Test) mode.
  • Paper 1 primary stage exam will be conducted for teaching positions for class 1 to 5 students.
  • Paper 2 elementary stage exam will be conducted for teaching positions for class 6 to 8 students. 
  • Both Paper 1 and Paper 2 will be of two-and-a-half hours duration.

CTET Paper 1 exam is divided into 5 sections:

  • Child Development and Pedagogy: 30 questions, 30 marks
  • Language I (compulsory): 30 questions, 30 marks
  • Language II (compulsory): 30 questions, 30 marks
  • Mathematics: 30 questions, 30 marks
  • Environmental Studies: 30 questions, 30 marks
  • Total: 150 questions, 150 marks

CTET Paper 2 exam is divided into 4 sections:

  • Child Development and Pedagogy: 30 questions, 30 marks
  • Language I (compulsory): 30 questions, 30 marks
  • Language II (compulsory): 30 questions, 30 marks
  • Mathematics & Science: 30 + 30 questions, 60 marks
    OR
  • Social Studies & Social Science: 60 questions, 60 marks
  • Total: 150 questions, 150 marks
