The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has declared to waive off exam and registration fees for Class 10 and 12 students who have lost parents due to the COVID-19.
The decision was taken by CBSE as a special measure for the academic Session 2021-22.
“The COVID-19 pandemic has impacted the country adversely and keeping in view of its impact on students, CBSE, as a special measure for academic session 2021-22, has decided that neither the exam fees nor the registration fees will be charged by the Board from the students who have lost both parents or surviving parent or legal guardian/ adoptive parents due to COVID-19 pandemic,” CBSE has said.

Recently, in a bid to address the confusion in the minds of thousands of students over question papers in the recently introduced examination structure, the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has released sample question papers for its newly-structured term 1 examinations for classes 10 and 12.
The CBSE is slated to hold two examinations in the 2021-22 session. As per the plans, the Board has decided to conduct Term-I Examination and Term-II Examination or the Year-end examination as one-time measure to address the issues surrounding the Covid pandemic situation.
The decision to conduct board exams in two terms (at least one board-conducted final exam at the end of the year) has been planned to avoid 2021-like situation where the Board had to declare the final results based on alternative assessment criteria.
