CBSE Board Exams: No Term 1, Term 2 Exams For Class 10-12 Students

The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has reportedly decided to restore the single-exam format of the pre-pandemic period from the next academic year for Class 10 and Class 12 students.

Due to the Covid-19 pandemic and the subsequent lockdowns and shutdowns, the Board had to divide the Class 10 and 12 exams into two parts with the Term 1 exam being held in November-December and the Term 2 being conducted in March-April.

According to India Today, sources in the education ministry have revealed about the decision to return to its previous single board exam format for the CBSE Class 10 and 12 board exams.

However, according to PTI report, the Board is yet to decide whether it will revert to the single board exam pattern. “…whether or not the same system will continue for the new academic session or not, is yet to be decided,” said officials on Friday.

"The decision about whether it will be extended to the new academic session or not will be taken in due course of time," a senior board official said.

Meanwhile, CBSE has already released the Term 2 admit cards of Class 10 and Class 12 students. Those, who will appear for the CBSE Term 2 exam, can download the same at cbse.gov.in.

The Board will be conducting the Class 10 and Class 12 Term 2 exams from April 26. While the CBSE Class 10 Term 2 exam will conclude on May 24, CBSE Class 12 board exam will end on June 15.

Students should note that the Term 2 exams will be of 120 minutes for each subject and based on both MCQs and subjective questions.
