The Indian Institutes of Management (IIMs) will conduct a computer- based Common Admission Test 2021 (CAT 2021) on November 28, 2021. The test will be conducted in three sessions.
As per an official notification, CAT will be conducted in test centres spread across around 158 cities. The candidates will be given the option to select any six test cities in the order of their preference.
The registration for CAT 2021 will open from August 04 at 10.00 am and will close on September 15, 2021 at 5.00 pm. After the closure of the registration window, a very short edit window will be made available to the registered applicants. This option will be valid only for those candidates who have paid the applicable registration fee and registered successfully for CAT 2021 within the specified deadline.

The duration of the test will be 120 minutes. There will be three sections:
Section I: Verbal Ability and Reading Comprehension
Section II: Data Interpretation and Logical Reasoning
Section III: Quantitative Ability
Candidates will be allotted 40 minutes for answering questions in each section and they will not be allowed to switch from one section to another while answering questions in a section.
Eligibility: The candidate must hold a Bachelor’s Degree, with at least 50 percent marks or equivalent CGPA (45 percent in the case of candidates belonging to the Scheduled Caste (SC), Scheduled Tribe (ST) and Persons with Disability (PwD) categories), awarded by any university or educational institution as incorporated by an Act of Parliament or State Legislature in India or declared to be deemed as an university under Section 3 of the UGC Act, 1956, or possess an equivalent qualification recognised by the Ministry of HRD, Government of India.
Candidates applying for CAT 2021 should fulfil any one of the following conditions:
-Completed Bachelor’s degree with the required percentage of marks.
-Completed professional degree (CA/CS/ICWA/Fellow of the Institute of Actuaries of India (FIAI)) with required percentage.
-Should be in the final year of Bachelor’s degree with required percentage.
-SC/ST/PwD candidates should have a minimum 45 percent score.
For General, EWS and NC-OBC candidates, the minimum is 50 percent.
Reservation: As per the legal requirements, 15 percent of the seats are reserved for Scheduled Caste (SC) and 7.5 percent for Scheduled Tribe (ST) candidates. 27 percent of the seats are reserved for Other Backward Classes candidates belonging to the “non-creamy” layer (NC-OBC). Up to 10 percent of the seats are reserved for Economically Weaker Sections (EWS) candidates.
