Amid the Board exam cancellation demands, the Supreme Court is scheduled to hear the plea seeking alternative assessment methods for Class 10 and 12 students on February 21, 2022.
Students from over 15 states had earlier moved the Apex court seeking direction to all boards including CBSE and ICSE not to hold offline exams.
The students had moved the plea through Child rights activist Anubha Shrivastava Sahai and the Students Union of Odisha while urging the Apex court to direct all boards for declaration of results on time and an option for improvement exams.
In their petition, the students had stated that subjecting them to appear for the offline exam during the Covid-19 pandemic time is in violation of their Right to Life.
While several state boards have already started taking measures to hold the board exams in physical mode, the CBSE has announced the date of term 2 theory examinations which will be conducted in offline mode.
As per the Board's circular, the Term 2 theory examinations will commence from April 26, 2022. The pattern of the question papers will be the same as that of the Sample Question Papers hosted on the Board's official website.
