Even though several state boards, including the CBSE and CISCE are all set to conduct the board exams 2022, a section of students continues to demand the cancellation of the exams citing various reasons.
Students have also pressed for their demand through several social media campaigns, including on Twitter. Now, the students have sought the help of Shashi Tharoor urging the Congress MP to intervene.
Responding to their request on Twitter, the Parliamentarian replied, "I sympathise with the problem but what's the solution? If exams are not held won't the students lose a year?"
Some students are also of the view that it is not feasible for them to cover 50 per cent syllabus in 60 days. "The Board had given us around 7-8 months time for the Term 1 exam which covered 50 per cent of our syllabus. Now, for the Term 2 exam, which covers the rest 50 per cent syllabus, we have got only two months," said a student.
It is worth mentioning that some students had filed a plea in the Supreme Court demanding cancellation of board exams 2020, but the SC rejected the plea throwing the ball in the court of the concerned authorities.
Meanwhile, the CBSE will conduct the Term 2 exams for Class 10 and Class 12 students from April 26. The exams will be held in offline mode for both objective and subjective type questions. Besides, the board has already issued guidelines for conducting practical examination, project and internal assessment.
