Hopeful aspirants for Assistant Section Officer (ASO) on Thursday staged a demonstration in front of the Odisha Public Service Commission (OPSC). They alleged discrepancies in the examination process.
They also alleged that the valuation of ASO examinations is erroneous.
The agitating aspirants complained that many with less marks are selected whereas those with more marks are rejected.
“I want to share my own experience. I secured 272.5 and my friend got 236. Her name has been on the merit list whereas mine is missing. I want to ask the respected chairman of the OPSC on what basis my friend who secured less mark than me has been selected and I have been rejected,” complained Sangeeta Senapati, an aspirant.
Another aspirant Rajat Mishra rued, “Odisha Public Service Commission (OPSC) is a constitutional body. Despite being a constitutional body, there are several allegations against it. There are errors in question papers and answer keys. Whenever we report the errors, the authorities say nothing can be done now citing delay as the reason. Now aspirants are complaining that their names haven’t shown in the merit list whereas those having less marks than them have been selected.”
Over 300 aspirants took part in the protest demonstration staged in front of the OPSC office, holding placards against the commission. On the other hand, the Commission issued a clarification and said allegations is baseless.
