Berhampur: The business capital of South Orissa woke up to a bloody morning on Friday as bodies of two brothers were found near Nigam Nagar and Ankoli railway track.

The deceased have been identified as Sanjay Maharana and Biswanath Maharana. While one foot of a body was severed, the other was found decapitated.

Meanwhile, police have reached the spot and are investigating the case. Sniffer dogs have been engaged to find clues relating the murder. It is suspected that sharp weapon is used, while the reason of the murder is yet to be ascertained.

“Nothing is clear from the preliminary investigation. We could comment anything only after the investigation is over,” Sarat Mohapatra SDPO Berhampur said.

According to Sanjay’s father, Sanjay had received an anonymous call around 9 pm at night the day he bought his new mobile phone and SIM card. However, their family members recovered the bodies of the duo near the railway track this morning.

“That night he rang me up at 1 am and asked me to come near EM school and take him home, but I refused. I came to EM school the next but could not find him and returned back. But the dead bodies were recovered this morning near the railway track,”

Earlier, on Thursday night some miscreants had allegedly hurled bombs at policemen at Aainabandh Sahi. The recent spate of incidents has shocked the denizens in the city.
