Delhi food festival gets underway

New Delhi: Delhiites can now treat themselves to the culinary delights of the age-old shops of `Purani Dilli`, thanks to a food festival that is underway here.

Delhi Tourism has brought the culinary delights of the age-old shops of Purani Dilli out into the open for everyone to enjoy.

The Dilli Ke Pakwan Festival, on Baba Kharak Singh Marg was inaugurated by Chief Minister Sheila Dikshit as part of the 100 years of Delhi celebrations.

Street food is the very soul of the culture of Delhi and no celebration can be complete without the quintessential Chaat, Kulfi, Biryani, Kebabs sold in the labyrinthine lanes of old Delhi.

The festival is enclosed within the 1100 feet long wall made up of paintings made by several artists who have come to Delhi from various parts of the world and made it their home.
