Dacoits nabbed after dacoity in Balasore

Balasore: In a major breakthrough, local police on Saturday night nabbed six dacoits for allegedly committing dacoity in Saru village under Khaira police limits here. The cops also recovered theft articles including five mobile phones and gold jewelry from the robbers.

According to reports, as many as 10 armed robbers broke into Trinath Das’s house on Saturday night and looted Rs 10,000 cash and jewelry. The miscreants, then, injured Trinath Das, Dayanidhi Das with a sharp weapon, pushed Trinath’s wife Aarti from the terrace of the house and then fled from the scene.

Following the incident, police sealed the Khaira-Soro road and caught six of the ten robbers while the other three managed to escape.

The robbers have been identified as Debendra Jena, Godi Rout, Abhimanyu Jena, Gourang Das, Rabindra Das and Bijay Das.

The cops also rushed Trinath, Dayanidhi and Aarti to hospital for medical assistance.

Meanwhile, Balasore SP has reached the crime scene and started investigating the case.
