Odia Student Dies At Coffee Shop In Surat, Family Alleges Murder

An Odia student died under mysterious circumstances at a coffee shop in Surat. The deceased has been identified as Madhusmita Sahu.

As per reports, Madhusmita, a B.Ed student fell unconscious at the coffee shop and was immediately shifted to a hospital by a friend on Monday. The role of the friend has now come under scanner as he fled the spot after the doctors declared Madhusmita dead.

The family members have accused it to be murder as they claim that Madhusmita was mentally very strong and could not have committed suicide. The family alleged that the Madhusmita has been murdered at the coffee shop with poison by her friend who was harrasing her earlier.

The girl's family members further informed that she was shifted to a new college recently after harrasment by her friend.

“Madhusmita had earlier complained that she was being harassed by one of her colleague. On Monday, she had gone to her previous college to get some documents and we suspect that the same student who used to torture her might be involved in the incident,” alleged brother of the deceased student.

Kishore Bagdolia, DCP Zone 3 Surat said, “On Monday the deceased student had come to the coffee shop with her friend identified as Patel Madni Zahir Ahemad where she fell unconscious. Later she was shifted to hospital in an ambulance where she was declared dead.”

The senior police official said a case has been registered and the exact cause of the death will be ascertained after post mortem is conducted by an expert panel.
