Misbehaviour slur on teacher: Students, parents lock school gate, hold protest in Kendrapara 

Tension ran high when police did not take action against the accused teacher even after complaint by students.

Students of Bijay Nagar High School under Mahakalapada police limits in Kendrapara district on Friday staged a dharna protesting alleged misbehaviour of a Class X girl student by a science teacher. 

The accused teacher alleged misbehaved with the girl student on July 18.

Parents of the students also joined the protest seeking arrest of the teacher and stringent action against him for his misconduct. 

The agitators locked the school gate and staged a protest in front of the school. Tension ran high when police did not take action against the accused teacher even after complaint by students. 

However, police as well as the accused teacher were unavailable for comments in this regard.

Madan Mohan Kar, headmaster of the school, said, “The incident took place on July 18 and I got to know about it on the following day.  I have formed a team of woman teachers to investigate the matter. I got to know from them that the allegation levelled against the teacher is true. I have informed the higher authorities in this regard. They will take a call on it.”
