The Odisha Vigilance officials conducted searches at the properties linked to Banamali Naik, Inspector of Co-operative Societies-cum- Secretary, Regulated Market Committee (RMC) at Sargipalli in Sundergarh district on Saturday.

The searches are being carried out following allegations of possession of disproportionate assets by Naik. The simultaneous house searches are being conducted by special teams of Odisha Vigilance, led by 5 DSPs, 7 Inspectors, 4 ASIs at 5 places in Sundargarh district.

As per initial reports, over Rs 2 lakh cash, gold ornaments worth around Rs 60 to 70 lakh and documents pertaining to bank deposits have been recovered.
