The cases of abduction of children have become rampant in Bhubaneswar. Making things worse, the neighbours and distant relatives are also found to be involved in many abduction cases in the State.

In another such incident, an 11-year old child from Jagamara area in Bhubaneswar was recently abducted by three abductors including two women.

However, the act of lifting the boy has been recorded on the CCTV camera installed in the nearby area.

As per reports, the abductors took away the child from his home initially by luring him to give ice cream. The child believed the abductors as they were his neighbours and went with them. Subsequently, the abductors took away the helpless child to Odogaon in Nayagarh district.

When the child didn’t return home for a long time the desperate family members lodged a missing complaint at Khandagiri police station. Based on the complaint, Khandagiri police launched a search operation and rescued the child from a bus at Pubusahi near Khordha.

All the three accused were arrested. Further investigation into the incident is underway.

A couple of days earlier, a minor boy was kidnapped and murdered by his cousin for Rs 10 lakh ransom at Titlagarh area in Bolangir district.
