Bhubaneswar: The Odisha government is mulling over relaxing certain lockdown curbs in districts having less than 5 per cent infection rate while the restrictions will continue in districts having 10 per cent or more rate of infection.
"The districts have been divided into three zones. We have kept a close eye on the situation. A meeting of top health officials will be held soon and decision will be taken on unlock process after June 17," said Bijay Mohapatra, Director, Odisha Health Services.
The government is observing the situation from all aspects and would take a call accordingly, he added.

He said, "It would be a matter of pleasure if the unlock process begins."
Other States have also started following the process. But, people should follow the unlock guidelines properly to prevent any possible negative impact, Mohapatra added.
Districts like Cuttack, Khurdha, Angul, Jajpur are still in a red zone as the daily infections are yet to decline while other parts in the State started showing a downward trend.
It is observed that the infection rate is on a steady decline in Western Odisha while some others are maintaining a stable graph, the health director pointed out.
Attributing the increasing trend of Covid fatalities to old and critical patients, Mohapatra said 62 per cent patients are still in the ICU and on ventilator support. Their health status would decide the fatality graph in the near future, he added.
Notably, the daily cases of Covid-19 further dipped in Odisha as the State witnessed 4,852 fresh cases on Saturday. Despite a declining trend in the fresh cases, the fatalities due to Covid-19 continue to surge in the State with 47 patients succumbing to the disease in the last 24 hours.
