Odisha sees big spike in Covid-19 infections, reports 1122 cases in last 24 hours

Continuing its upward trend, the daily Covid-19 tally in Odisha breached the 1000-mark on Wednesday with the State reporting 1,122 new infections in the last 24 hours.

As per the data shared by the Odisha government’s I &PR department, 164 cases were detected in 0-18 year age group, while 658 and 464 cases were reported in quarantine and local contacts respectively.

Once again, Khordha district reported the highest number of 307 new cases, followed by Sundargarh (197) and Cuttack (132). The State Pool registered 71 cases.

With the fresh addition, the number of active cases in the State jumped to 6701. As many as 737 new recoveries have been detected in the last 24 hours.

Since the outbreak of the Covid-19 pandemic, the State has recorded 13,01,995 confirmed cases. While 12,86,111 patients have recovered, 9,130 succumbed to the virus.
