Odisha reported the record highest toll of 61 deaths due to the virus infection on Friday taking the overall number of fatalities to 4,476.
Highest number of 11 fatalities was reported from Khordha district, six each from Bargarh, Ganjam, Mayurbhanj and Puri, five each from Sambalpur and Sundargarh, four from Keonjhar, two each from Cuttack, Dhenkanal and Nayagarh and one each from Boudh, Gajapati, Jharsuguda, Kendrapara, Nuapada and Jharsuguda.
“This list does not reflect deaths occurring on a particular day. It gives details of past deaths for which the death audit process has been duly completed and the cause of death has been identified as due to Covid-19,” the department tweeted.

The Covid positive tally in Odisha also rose to 9,35,136 after as many as 2,806 people tested positive for the virus on Friday.
The active cases in the State reached 27, 429 while 9,03,178 patients have recovered, including 2,896 on Thursday, from the disease so far.
Of the fresh Covid-19 cases reported from 30 districts, 1,613 are from quarantine centres, while the rest 1,193 are local contact cases, the data revealed by the I&PR Department stated.
Khordha district reported the highest 590 cases in the last 24 hours, followed by Cuttack (441), Jajpur (252), Balasore (153), Puri (138), Dhenkanal (124), Jagatsinghpur (119), Mayurbhanj (109) and Angul (102).
The districts which registered below 100 cases are Nayagarh (86), Bhadrak (83), Keonjhar (72), Sundargarh (65), Kendrapara (57), Bargarh (33), Rayagada (30), Koraput (29), Sambalpur (26), Kalahandi (25), Nabarangpur (20), Kandhamal (17), Sonepur (16), Jharsuguda and Bolangir (10 each), Boudh (9), Nuapada (7), Gajapati (6) and Deogarh (4).
The State has so far tested over 1,43,35,808 samples for Covid-19, including 72,645 in the last 24 hours.
