The Odisha Health Department has directed all District Collectors, Municipal Commissioners, Chief District Medical and Public Health Officers to (CDM&PHOs) to improve the pace of Covid-19 vaccination in order to achieve the desired daily target of 3.5 lakh inoculations.
“I reiterate my earlier communication made on 31st July, allocating district-wise targets to achieve 3.5 lakh doses administration per day in the State. You are requested to plan and ramp up vaccination drive accordingly to achieve more than the daily target fixed for your district,” Additional Chief Secretary, Health Pradipta Mohapatra said.

Stating that the Union Health and Family Welfare Ministry has now nearly doubled the monthly vaccine allocation to states, he said faster vaccine consumption will lead to higher allocation for the State.
“The issue of syringe availability has also now been resolved,” he said adding, “In view of this, it is of utmost importance that we step up the pace of vaccination in all districts.”
The officials have been asked to focus on priority activities such as vaccination of all second-dose-due beneficiaries, vaccination of all teachers and non-teaching staff of government and private schools. Moreover, the officials were asked to stress on the vaccination of all pregnant women.
The Health Department has set district-wise daily target of vaccination to achieve the target of 3.5 lakh jabs per day.
