Odisha Continues To Report Dip In Daily Covid-19 Caseload, Records 5,057 Infections In A Day

A total of 2,74,43,759 samples have been tested, 61,635 in the last 24 hours, in the State so far. The daily test positivity rate stood at 8.2 percent.

Odisha recorded a further dip in new Covid-19 infections as the State detected 5,057 cases in the last 24 hours pushing the cumulative positive tally to 12,36,226, as per the Information and Public Relations (I&PR) Department.

As many as 10 patients succumbed to the disease which took the death toll due to Covid-19 to 8,560, informed the Health and Family Welfare (H&FW) Department.

Of the new cases reported today, 667 positives are from the 0-18 year age group. A total of  2,932 cases have been reported from quarantine while 2,135 are local transmission cases, added the I&PR Department.

Khurda district, which comprises the Capital City Bhubaneswar, reported the maximum cases at 1,111, followed by 495 in Cuttack and 429 in Sundargarh, respectively.

Cases in other districts

Nayagarh (217), Balasore (202), Nuapada (190), Sambalpur (179), Kalahandi (140), Nabarangpur (136), Mayurbhanj (135), Bolangir (133), Jajpur (128), Jagatsinghpur (125), Angul (110), Sonepur (104), Puri (94), Bhadrak (91), Bargarh (85), Rayagada (85), Kandhamal (84), Koraput (76), Ganjam (60), Dhenkanal (69), Gajapati (68), Malkangiri (58), Deogarh (51), Jharsuguda (50), Boudh (44), Kendrapara (34) and State Pool (225).

In terms of fatalities, two deaths were reported from Khordha district while one each from Bhadrak, Cuttack, Dhenkanal, Jagatsinghpur, Jajpur, Mayurbhanj, Puri and Rayagada districts.

The active cases remained at 64,217 while as many as 11,63,396 patients have recovered from the disease so far, as per the data of I&PR Department.
