Amid an ongoing resurgence across the world, the global coronavirus caseload has topped 337.1 million, while the deaths have surged to more than 5.56 million and vaccinations to over 9.71 billion, according to Johns Hopkins University.

In its latest update on Thursday morning, the University's Center for Systems Science and Engineering (CSSE) revealed that the current global caseload and the death toll stood at 337,112,379 and 5,563,776, respectively, while the total number of vaccine doses administered has increased to 9,710,746,441.

The US continues to be the worst-hit country with the world's highest number of cases and deaths at 68,508,181 and 857,672, according to the CSSE.

The other countries with over 5 million cases are the UK (15,609,993), France (14,289,873), Russia (10,716,397), Turkey (10,593,687), Italy (9,219,391), Spain (8,676,916), Germany (8,262,908), Argentina (7,446,626) Iran (6,231,909) and Colombia (5,624,520), the CSSE figures showed.

The nations with a death toll of over 100,000 are Russia (316,852), Mexico (301,789), Peru (203,645), the UK (153,376), Indonesia (144,192), Italy (142,205), Iran (132,132), Colombia (131,437), France (128,641), Argentina (118,628), Germany (116,179), Ukraine (105,236) and Poland (103,062).
