Odisha CM Sanctions Additional Funds To 3 Dists For Covid Managament Bhubaneswar: In order to manage the rising Covid-19 situation, Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik on Thursday sanctioned additional funds for three districts-Puri, Sonepur and Sambalpur- from the chief Minister Relief Funds (CMRF). Puri district which had earlier received of Rs 14,59,74,408 from the government, was sanctioned additional further from CMRF. With the additional amount, Puri district now has received a total Rs 16,59,74,408 for Covid management. Similarly, the Chief Minister has also sanctioned Rs 1 Crore for Sonepur district, which was given 2,50,00,000 earlier. With Rs 1 crore additional funds, the total amount sanctioned to the district went up to 3,50,00,000 for Covid-19 management. Similarly, Sambalpur district received a total Rs 16,12,80,692 with additional fund of Rs 4,62,80,692 released today from the CMRF. The government had previously sanctioned Rs 11,50,00,000 for the district to spend on Covid management.

Bhubaneswar: Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik on Tuesday directed concerned authorities to ensure correct information on patients’ health status shared with their relatives and adherence of social distancing norms at vaccination centres across the State.

Following a review of the present Covid-19 situation in the State, Patnaik said, “The situation in Odisha is under control. The number of recoveries is more than the daily infections.”

“The government has decided to extend the lockdown for two weeks to arrest the spread of the virus. The rate of infection has slumped in many districts due to the lockdown and awareness among the people,” Patnaik informed.

The CM also directed thr concerned departments to take necessary steps for providing help to children who lost their parents to Covid-19.

Moreover, Patnaik also asked all the District Collectors to ensure an error-free survey scheduled to begin from May 24 to curb the spread of the virus and active participation of panchayats and Kalyan Samitis.

Emphasising on proper use of masks in the fight against coronavirus, the CM said “MLAs have been asked to spend upto Rs 50 lakh from MLAADS fund to make masks by mission shakti groups to ensure all poor people in the State get masked.”
