Daily Covid Cases In Odisha Likely To Cross Second Wave Peak Soon, Says Top Health Official

Meanwhile, the cumulative Covid-19 positive tally in the State has surged to 11,01,606 so far while the death toll has gone up to 8,472. A total of 10,48,732 people have recovered from the infection. The active cases have gone up to 44,349.

Covid-19 cases in Odisha today breached the 10,000-mark with 10,059 infections reported in the last 24 hours . Amid the unprecedented trend, the State Director of Health Services Bijay Mohapatra said the single-day count in Odisha is likely to cross the second wave peak in the next few days.

The State had recorded the highest single-day cases on May 22, 2021 with a total of 12,852 infections, as per a data revealed by the State Information and Public Relations (I&PR) Department.
