Covid-19 Odisha Update: ‘Next 2 Months Crucial, Vaccination Rate Low In 5 Districts’

Briefing reporters about the current pandemic situation in the State, Director, Family Welfare and nodal officer for Covid vaccination, Dr Bijay Panigrahi informed that the vaccination rate is low in five districts of the State, including Gajapati, Sundargarh, Cuttack, Angul and Mayurbhanj.

As Odisha has been witnessing a steep increase in Covid-19 cases, a top State health official on Wednesday said the infections will continue to rise in the coming days.

Briefing reporters about the current pandemic situation in the State, Director, Public Health,  Niranjan Mishra said, “Covid-19 cases are increasing and majority of the patients are asymptomatic. The coming days in January, February and early days of March are very crucial. The Test Positivity Rate (TPR) in the State has considerably increased and hovering around 7.5 percent.”
