Bhopal: Madhya Pradesh Congress unit on Tuesday termed as "misleading" recent announcement made by Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan towards general welfare.

"Chouhan's announcements like e-panchayat and appointment of an accountant are part of the Central Government's Rajiv Gandhi Panchayat Empowerment Scheme, but the chief minister presented it as if it was his own scheme," the Leader of Opposition Ajay Singh said in a statement issued here.

Madhya Pradesh Government has received massive grants under Rajiv Gandhi Panchayat Empowerment Scheme and the 13th Finance Commission, but the BJP government in order to take credit is projecting these schemes are conceived by them to mislead the people, he said.
