Mysore: Four cheetahs, which had been brought from Johannesburg in South Africa under mutual exchange programme into Mysore Zoo, were on Friday moved into a separate enclosure.

Former Test Cricketeer and Secretary of Karnataka State Cricket Association Javagal Srinath released the cheetahs into enclosures.

These cheetahs (two male and two female) have arrived in March and one of it gave birth to three cubs which is considered as a rare event in the history of Mysore Zoo.

Speaking on the occasion, Srinath expressed happiness that he was part of such a programme held in zoo especially his native place.

He said that most of the team India cricketers have shown keen interest for adopting Mysore zoo animals and Captain of Indian Cricket team Mahendra Singh Dhoni had announced that he would be adopting a tiger of zoo very soon when he visits Mysore.

Srinath lauded the efforts of former Team India captain Anil Kumble in creating awareness among public about preservation of wild life.
