Thane: Shiv Sena Executive President Uddhav Thackeray on Friday slammed the Chief Minister Pritviraj Chavan for relying on his cabinet colleague and former Shiv Sena leader, Narayan Rane with respect to Jaitapur nuclear project.

Uddhav was talking to reporters after inaugurating a housing exhibition here.

When asked about Rane`s allegation in the Assembly that Shiv Sena got Rs 500 crore for scuttling Jaitapur project, Thackeray said that one should not pay attention to Rane, who was known to make irresponsible statements.

The Chief Minister should know who to rely on, he said.

He said that Shiv Sena did not want this project in Maharashtra. The project could very well go outside the state; Maharashtra would buy power from that state, he said.
