Mumbai: Commenting on the recent blasts in Mumbai, BJP on Wednesday said that Maharashtra chief minister Prithviraj Chavan had failed his first big "test".

"The chief minister has failed his first test....The Democratic Front government in Maharashtra lacks political will to fight the terror menace," said BJP spokesperson Prakash Jawdekar today.

He said that apart from other issues such as the runaway inflation and corruption, the main opposition party would corner the Union government on this in the monsoon session of the Parliament.

Ram Pradhan committee report (on 26/11 terror attack) was not implemented, and even bulletproof jackets procured for police had not been used, he said. The speed-boats meant for coastal patrolling were lying idle for want of fuel, he alleged.

Now a blame-game had begun between the ruling Congress and Nationalist Congress Party in the state post the blasts, he said.

The chief minister, deputy chief minister and state home minister should own the responsibility for the last week`s blasts, Jawdekar stated.
