Chain snatcher injured in police encounter

Bhubaneswar:  A chain snatcher was injured in an encounter on Friday while he was trying to flee at Badagada in Bhubaneswar.

The incident took place during the wee hours of Friday when the police raided the residence of chain snatcher Avinash Lenka at Badagada. Lenka fired at the police in a bid to escape, the police fired at him in retaliation. In the exchange of fire a police personnel and Lenka were injured.

Lenka was injured in this incident and has been admitted to Cuttack SCB Medical College and Hospital.

Lenka was involved in various incidents of chain snatching including the recent ones near Big Bazaar and in Jay Durga Nagar.
