Woman orders Apple Watch series 8 worth Rs 50K on Amazon, gets item worth Rs 2K
Online shopping has become a popular trend, providing convenience and accessibility to consumers worldwide. However, individuals often report receiving faulty items when purchasing products online, particularly in the realm of gadgets and mobile accessories.
In one such recent incident, a woman who ordered an Apple Watch from Amazon highlights the potential pitfalls of online shopping.
Sanaya, a disappointed customer, took to Twitter to share her unfortunate experience with online shopping. She had ordered the highly sought-after Apple Watch Series 8 from Amazon, with a price tag of Rs 50,900.
However, her excitement quickly turned into disappointment when she allegedly received a completely different product (a watch) from a different company.
The value of the received watch was significantly lower, averaging around Rs 2,000.
Frustrated and determined to resolve the issue, Sanaya reached out to customer support of the company multiple times, but to no avail.
Sanaya expressed her frustration on Twitter, sharing her unfortunate experience with the online platform. She tweeted, "NEVER ORDER FROM AMAZON!!! On July 8th, I placed an order for the latest @Apple Watch Series 8 from @amazon. To my disappointment, I received a counterfeit 'FitLife' watch on July 9th. Despite making numerous calls, @AmazonHelp has been unresponsive. Please refer to the attached pictures for evidence. I urgently request @AppleSupport to intervene and resolve this issue promptly."
In response to Sanaya's tweet, the official Twitter handle of Amazon Help, Ateeb, replied with an apology, saying, "We apologize for the inconvenience you've faced with your order. Please reach out to us via DM, and we will make every effort to assist you. For your privacy and security, please refrain from sharing your order or account details through DM. -Ateeb"
Many netizens expressed their anger and dissatisfaction with the situation, with some suggesting that it may be safer to purchase gadgets and similar products from offline retail stores.
Others recommended setting a limit on the value of items purchased from online platforms, such as Amazon, as a precautionary measure.
