The Odisha government's Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) Department has bagged the first prize in the category ‘National MSME Award 2022 to States/UTs for outstanding contributions to the promotion and development of the MSME sector. The state has won the award by the virtue of various developmental initiatives taken up for the development of MSMEs.
Moreover, the Kalahandi district also has been awarded the third prize in the category of ‘National MSME Award 2022 to Aspirational districts for outstanding contribution to the promotion and development of MSME Sector.’
While Bihar is in the second position, Haryana bagged third place.
Apart from the government departments, two private organisations in Odisha have also bagged the awards.
While, M/s Saferisk Insurance Brokers Private Limited, Bhubaneswar clinched the first prize in the category 'Award for Service Entrepreneurship- Service Small Enterprise (overall)', M/s Amarnath Pest Management Technology in Cuttack was awarded the third prize in the category 'Award for Service Entrepreneurship- Service Micro Enterprise (overall)'.
Ashok Mishra, Chairman of Saferisk said, "We are an Odisha-based company and are operating for 7 years. In these 7 years, we have set up 16 branches pan-India including prime locations like Mumbai, Kolkata, Hyderabad, Raipur and Chennai. We also have branches in Jharkhand and Bihar. We have 7 branches in Odisha only."
"In these 7 years, we have offered exemplary service in the insurance sector for which we have received the award," Mishra added.
The Government of India came up with the National MSME Award 2022 comprising of altogether 44 categories including Manufacturing Entrepreneurship (12 awards), Service Entrepreneurship (9 awards), Special Category Enterprises (14 awards), and the institutional support to MSMEs (9 Awards).
The application in these categories for the selection of winners was evaluated by the Selection Committee at the Government of India level.
