Amid the fluctuation in gold and silver rates across the country, the price for 24-carat gold per 10 gram reached Rs 53,400 on Friday in twin cities of Bhubaneswar and Cuttack with an increase of Rs 100 from Thursday’s price.
For 23-carat, the price of 10 grams of yellow metal reached Rs 51,400 while the rate of 22-carat gold reached 50,400.
Similarly, the rate of 20, 18 and 14-carat gold remained at Rs 45500, Rs 41200 and Rs 32500, respectively. Pure Ginni (gold coin) is being traded at Rs 41, 400 on Friday.
On the other hand, one kilogram of silver is being sold at Rs 57,800 in Bhubaneswar, following an increase of Rs 100 from Friday’s price of Rs 57,700.
Notably, factors such as state taxes, excise duty, and making charges lead to changes in the price of gold in India.
Meanwhile, in the international market, spot gold was up 0.3 per cent at $1,756.64 per ounce, as of 0548 GMT, while US gold futures gained 0.4 per cent to $1,769.00 .
"Gold prices recovered on weaker dollar and ease in US bond yields," said Tapan Patel, Senior Analyst (Commodities) at HDFC Securities.
