Petrol and diesel prices became costlier 80 paise a litre each for the second day in a row on Wednesday. The fuel rates were revised for the first time on Tuesday after almost a gap of four-and-a-half months.
The revision has sent the price of petrol up by around Re 1 in the Capital City of Odisha. Petrol in Bhubaneswar was retailing at Rs 103.69 as against 102.66 previously while the diesel rate has gone up from Rs 92.48 per litre to Rs 93.61 per litre , as per a price notification of state fuel retailers.
In Cuttack, petrol is selling at Rs 103.82 per litre and diesel at 93.62 per litre on Wednesday. Similarly, the new rates of petrol is Rs 103.10 per litre and diesel Rs 93.72 per litre in Balasore. In Sambalpur, petrol price has touched Rs 104.01 per litre and diesel at Rs 93.84 per litre. Apart from that, in Bolangir, petrol price stands at Rs 105.37 per lire and diesel was 95.14 per litre, respectively.
The prices of fuel are the highest in Malkangiri in comparison to other places of Odisha. In the south district, the prices of petrol and diesel are at Rs 109.41 and 99.03, respectively.
Meanwhile, Petrol in Delhi stood at Rs 97.01 per litre as against Rs 96.21 yesterday while diesel rate has gone up from Rs 87.47 per litre to Rs 88.27.
The prices of petrol and diesel were hiked after 137-day hiatus on March 22 with an 80 paise per litre increase in rates. The prices of fuel had been on a freeze since November 4 in view of the assembly elections in 5 states Uttar Pradesh, Punjab, Uttarakhand, Goa and Manipur. But during this period, the cost of raw material (crude oil) had soared by USD 30 per barrel in the wake of Russia-Ukraine crisis.
