Amid the fluctuation in gold and silver rates across the country, the price for 24-carat gold per 10 gram reached Rs 52,450 on Wednesday in twin cities of Bhubaneswar and Cuttack with an increase of Rs 50 as against Tuesday’s price.
For 23-carat, the price of 10 grams of the yellow metal jumped to Rs 50,600 while the rate of 22-carat gold reached 49,600. Similarly, the rate of 20, 18 and 14-carat gold remained at Rs 44800, Rs 40600 and Rs 32200, respectively. Pure Ginni (gold coin) was being traded at Rs 40,900 on Wednesday.
Notably, the price of gold varies for different regions based on certain parameters such as the excise duty, making charges and the state taxes.
On the other hand, one kilogram of silver is being sold at Rs 62,100 (With GST) in Bhubaneswar, following an increase of Rs 300 from Tuesday’s price of Rs 61,700.
Gold prices treaded water on Wednesday, with lower U.S. Treasury yields lending support, as bullion`s struggle to break out of its range-bound trade continued. Spot gold was up 0.1% at $1,821.57 per ounce by 0254 GMT. U.S. gold futures firmed 0.1% at $1,823.10, said a Reuters report.
