After the revised price of petrol and diesel, with slashed VAT and a further cut on Excise duty on fuels by the Centre, came into force on November 6, bus fares in Odisha witnessed a reduction on Saturday.
While the fare for ordinary buses came down to 87 paise/Km from the earlier 92 paise/Km, the fare for Express buses has reduced to 91 paisa/Km which earlier remained at 96 paise/Km.

Similarly, the fare for luxury buses has been reduced considerably in comparison to the ordinary category. The fare for Deluxe buses has been slashed to Rs 1.25 (per kilometre) from Rs 1.35. The fare for the AC Deluxe bus, which earlier remained at Rs 1.63 (per Kilometre) came down to Rs 1.53. Similarly, the Super Premium bus fare has been reduced to Rs 2.38/Km from Rs 2.53/Km.
