Japanese two-wheeler maker, Yamaha presented the new Tracer 9 GT+ at EICMA 2022 in Milan on Wednesday.
The “+” symbol on the Tracer 9GT embodies tons of technological upgrades that promise to make the riding experience even more enjoyable and safer.
To be precise, a control unit in the bike manages a lot of electronic devices on the basis of the data collected by an inertial platform and by a millimeter wave radar. The list includes the Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC) and the intelligent Unified Brake System (UBS), both connected to the aforementioned radar, electronic suspensions as well as four Riding Modes (Sport, Street, Rain, Custom).

All the features are connected by a TFT cluster, which can support Garmin navigation. It also has a new saddle and a larger rear brake.
The Tracer 9 GT features a newly developed 890cc liquid-cooled three-cylinder, DOHC, four-valve-per-cylinder fuel-injected (YCC-T) engine with a downdraft intake. It has a bore × stroke of 78 mm × 62.1 mm and an 11.5:1 compression ratio. And for ultimate sports versatility, this performance bike comes with up-and-down QSS for smoother and faster gear changes, claims the manufacturer.
Jointly developed with KYB® to deliver both sporty performance and a comfortable ride, the Tracer 9 GT features an electronically controlled suspension. The suspension provides damping force that is based on real-time running conditions for riding comfort and feel from the road. Based on inputs from the six-axis Inertial Measurement Unit (IMU), the Engine Control Unit (ECU) and the Hydraulic Unit (HU), the Suspension Control Unit (SCU) calculates the optimum settings for suspension damping.
Interestingly, the Tracer 9 GT is fitted with LED cornering lights that get brighter as you lean further – while ten-stage adjustable grip heaters keep the hands warm whatever the weather.
