While blending art and vehicle may pose challenges, it's perfectly achievable, as demonstrated by BMW with its Art Car series. The latest project involved both a car and a motorcycle, both now housed in private collections at Italy’s Bologna.
An event was organized in Bologna’s Galleria Cavour for the unveiling of “Centauro,” a work of art based on one of the designs of a limited-edition Ducati Streetfighter V4 Lamborghini Speciale Clienti.
The collaborative exhibition between Lamborghini, Ducati, and Troilo represents a convergence of artistic expression and automotive design.
“Centauro” is created by artist Paolo Troilo as a follow-up to “Minotauro”, a painting by the artist on the bodywork of a Lamborghini Huracán EVO. The art merges as an iconic design between the two brands in a combination of dynamism, power and emotion.
The Huracan Evo features Troilo’s depiction of a male figure, symbolizing the fusion of his artistic vision and Lamborghini’s brand value. The unveiling ceremony at Galleria Cavour was attended by 200 guests, including Automobili Lamborghini’s CEO, Stephen Winkelmann, and Ducati’s CEO, Claudio Domenicali.
Paolo Troilo (Taranto, 1972) is a one-of-a-kind Italian artist known for his unique technique of hyper-realistic finger painting. “Centauro” is painted using this technique in the figurative representation of the arms of a man bent in acceleration that emerge on the two sides of the tank, and it is completed with other tools in the abstract geometric decomposition that characterizes the remaining parts of the motorcycle.
This work combines myth and reality, embodying a superhuman strength that merges with the rationality enhanced by the shapes and volumes of the Streetfighter V4, thus transmitting power and a boundless sense of confidence in one’s abilities.
The idea of “Art of Creating Myths” was born in September 2022 at the same time as the world première of the Ducati Streetfighter V4 Lamborghini, the second chapter of the collaboration between the two Companies after the Diavel 1260 Lamborghini.
The Ducati Streetfighter V4 Lamborghini, a motorcycle capable of combining the values of sportiness, exclusivity, and fascination, is presented in a limited and numbered edition of 630 examples characterized by a brilliant livery in Citrea Green and Dac Orange.
But the uniqueness of this project does not end here: in fact, Ducati and Automobili Lamborghini announced that they had thought of an even more exclusive series of 63 units, called Speciale Clienti, which allowed 63 Lamborghini customers to work directly with the Centro Stile Ducati and configure their Ducati Streetfighter V4 Lamborghini with colours, bodywork, and rims exactly like those of their Lamborghini.
