Having a modest presence so far with just the Xtreme and Xpulse models, Hero MotoCorp has upped the ante by bringing back its popular nameplate, in the form of the Karizma XMR. However, this is not all. The Indian two-wheeler maker is all set to introduce four more premium bikes soon, reported Autocar India.
As per the report, Hero MotoCorp is developing four premium motorcycles, two in the core premium segment and two in the upper premium segment – i.e two Harley X440-based models. According to the reports, Hero might drop the two new Harley X440-based motorcycles, solely under the brand ownership soon. However, the company has not revealed or hinted at any official details regarding the same as yet.
Hero MotoCorp plans to set up a separate retail channel for its premium range. The bike maker has stated that it will have over 100 such outlets over the next year.
Recent patent filings suggest Hero could be working on a new maxi-scooter as well. However, whether it will be part of its premium line-up remains to be seen.
Hero has recently launched Karizma XMR 210 in India.
The 210 CC motor of Karizma XMR registers 25 bhp of max power and 20 Nm of peak torque. The engine is mated to a 6-speed gearbox.
