Netizens reacted with shock, anger and dismay over the spiralling fuel prices in the State.
While some expressed their helplessness over the surging prices of petrol and diesel with sarcasm, others were vocal against the unabated trend that has upset the family budget of the common man.

All major cities in Odisha have registered petrol price soaring above Rs 100 per litre while Malkangiri district has recorded the highest in the State at Rs 115 per lotre. Similarly, the price of diesel has touched Rs 111 per litre in the district.
In the Capital city of Bhubaneswar, while the price of per litre petrol has skyrocketed to Rs 109.71, the price of diesel has touched Rs 106 per litre.
In Steel City Rourkela, the price of petrol has touched Rs 110 and in Jeypore the price of the fuel has gone up to Rs 113 per litre.
People from the above cities expressed their resentments over the zooming fuel price which is pinching the pockets of the common man.
“Our livelihood has already been hit badly due to the Covid-19 situation. When the situation improved a little bit, the continuous rise of the fuel prices have made the situation even worse. We are completely helpless and hopeless now,” said a denizen in Bhubaneswar.
With sarcasm in his voice a small shopkeeper on Cuttack said all the promises of the government have gone down the drain.
“We are striving hard and struggling to make our ends meet. The transport cost has been doubled due to the steep rise of fuel prices and our profession is at stake,” he said.
The fuel price rise has pinched the pocket of the common man very badly, he added.
“Due to the increase in transport costs, the prices of food items and essential commodities have also surged. We have no option but compromise on even the minimum needs of life,” rued a netizen from Malkangiri.
“The steep rise in the fuel prices has taken a serious toll on our livelihood and living. We urge the government to take appropriate measures immediately to check the prices and relieve the common men coping up with the spiralling inflation,” he added.
