Bhopal: Leader of Opposition in the Madhya Pradesh Assembly, Ajay Singh has said despite promising to reel out the state of the bad water, power and road condition, the BJP government had done nothing about it.

During his first public meeting of the `Jana Chetna` yatra at Prithvipur, which began on May 11 at Orchha in Tikamgarh district, Singh said the BJP did not do anything to improve the road, water and power situation in the state and now it was even backing out from the promise it made, when the party came to power in 2003.

Even after regaining power in 2008, the BJP did not care to fulfill its promises, he alleged.

State Cooperative Minister G S Bisen says that the government cannot fulfill the promises, as it had not made them in the first place, Singh quipped. However, the ruling BJP said the Congress had lost all authority to talk of any issues.

BJP spokesman Hitesh Vajpayee told PTI that most Congress leaders were more concerned about their luxury than the problems of the masses. The yatra is nothing but a formality by which Congress wants to show its existence in the state, he added.

Meanwhile, reacting to this, the Chairman of the Madhya Pradesh Congress media department, Manak Agarwal said the BJP was entitled to their views about the yatra and the truth would come out before the people during the next Assembly elections.
