Sagar: Leader of Opposition in the Madhya Pradesh Assembly, Ajay Singh, said here today that Bundelkhand continued to be backward in spite of the state receiving funds for the region from the Centre.

Addressing a press conference here, Ajay said he found during his Jana Chetna Yatra that there was not much truth in the claims by the BJP about development in the state.

The condition of the farmers was worst in the area represented in the Assembly by the Agriculture Minister Ram Krishna Kusumuriya, he said. All the BJP ministers were corrupt, Ajay said.

Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan wanted to earn praise by ordering raids on the houses of officials, but if he was serious about punishing the corrupt, he should give permission for prosecuting his ministers, the Congress leader added.
