Patna: CPI on Wednesday held as "very unsatisfactory" Bihar Government`s performance, but backed its demand for a special package to tide over the economic backwardness of the state.

"The NDA Government`s performance has been very unsatisfactory despite tall claims by the Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, but at the same time, the demand for a special package is fully justified in view of prevailing economic backwardness in the state," CPI General Secretary A B Bardhan told reporters.

The law and order situation had deteriorated in Bihar and lakhs of people were migrating elsewhere for jobs due to lack of employment opportunities in their home state, he alleged.

NDA Government had also failed to set up industries in the state and carry out land reforms, Bardhan said.
