Bhumi Puja in Cuttack ahead of Modi visit on May 26

 

Bhubaneswar: Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) today performed ‘Bhumi Puja’ at the Balijatra Ground here ahead of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s visit to the State scheduled on May 26.

Modi will address a public meeting at the Balijatra Ground on occasion of completion of four years of the NDA government at the Centre.Members of saffron party including women and youths reached the venue to participate in the ‘Bhumi Puja’ and make arrangements for the mega event.

“The ‘Bhumi Puja’ is being done for success of the grant event. It is a fortune for all of us that Prime Minister Modi has chosen this historical city of Cuttack to address the country and highlight the party’s achievements during the four years his tenure,” Party’s senior leader Sameer Dey said.

 “The lotus has bloomed wherever Modi has set his foot. It will bloom in Odisha too. Dey said hinting at the 2019 polls.

Earlier on Sunday, a team of senior BJP leaders led by party State President Basant Panda visited the venue to review various arrangements for the PM visit.Notably, this will be Modi’s the first visit to the State after the saffron party’s massive defeat in Bijepur bypoll. The visit is aimed at boosting the sagging morale of party workers, said sources.
