Artificial lake to come up at Verinag health resort
Jammu: Situated on the gateway to Kashmir valley, Verinagar health resort will soon have an artificial lake to attract tourists.
Government of India has given sanction to the development of the Serbal lake at Verinag tourist resort at a cost of Rs 496 lakh in 2011-12, Minister for Tourism Nawang Rigzin Jora said in a written reply to a question in the state Assembly on Thursday.
The construction and development of tourist huts are coming up at Verinag tourist resort under Verinag Development Authority, which has been created for focused and planned development of the resort.
Rs 220 lakh has been released to the development authority during 2010-11 under the state plan, he said.
