At least six persons lost their lives in just one day in separate road accidents in Odisha on Sunday. Meanwhile, several others have been left battling for their lives.

In the first incident reported from the Capital city of Bhubaneswar, a biker was crushed to death while his friend sustained grievous injuries after their two-wheeler met with an accident at Delta Square. Similarly, a youth died while another sustained injuries in a bike accident in Cuttack’s Narsinghpur.

Likewise, at least two labourers were killed while six others were rendered critical in Sambalpur. The labourers were going on a pick-up van when their vehicle was hit by a container. Similarly, a youth was killed after being hit by a container in Koraput’s Pottangi.

In the fifth incident, a youth was killed after he was run over by an unidentified vehicle in Dhenkanal’s Parjang. Similarly, an auto-driver was rendered critical after his three-wheeler collided head-on with a truck near Ghasipura in Keonjhar.

In the last incident, at least five persons were rendered critical after their vehicle was hit by an over-speeding truck in Balasore’s Basta. The rising cases of accident-related deaths in Odisha have become a matter of serious concern in the state.

A day back, at least three Odia labourers were killed in Chhattisgarh while they were coming back home.
