Abhishek Dutta endorses No Pollution at LFW

Mumbai: Models displaying designer Abhishek Dutta`s creation walked down the ramp wearing metallic masks at the ongoing Lakme Fashion Week Winter/ Festive 2012 to support the cause of "no pollution".

Abhishek`s collection was based on the Chinese puzzle called `Tangram` which consists of seven triangular pieces put together to make different three-dimensional formations. The mood was set with models portraying the message through the masks.

"Through my collection we wanted to promote the anti-pollution cause, hence models were wearing anti-pollution masks. Also, the music had honking sounds to show heavy traffic," Abhishek said.

His Indo-Western blend, meant for men and women, included structured jackets, zipper jackets, Jodhpuris, jumpsuits, maxi dresses, corset tops and knitted kurtas.

Even though the designer intended to spread the "No Pollution" message he used leather in his creations. Abhishek ,however, clarified his position saying, "We used leather as that was only thing which could support the look of the clothes. I know it is not right to use it. Even though we have used leather in all the garments it has been used minimally".
