New Delhi: Rain drenched the capital overnight and a thick cloud cover kept the Sun away this morning.

Though the day temperature had fallen a few notches yesterday, the minimum temperature was well above the normal mark overnight.

The capital received 6.4 mm of rainfall over the past 24 hours, most of which came in the last 12 hours, the MeT department said. The city had received 0.1 mm of rain till 8:30 PM last night.

The minimum for the day was recorded at 14.6 degree, which is a good four degrees above normal for this time of the season.

Yesterday, an overcast sky in the morning had led to an increase in the minimum temperature which had settled at 14.7 degrees Celsius, five degrees above normal.

The showers had, however, brought down the maximum temperature which was recorded at 22.2 degrees Celsius, two degrees below the normal level.
