Bhubaneswar: Thirty five accused were acquitted in Nilgiri Sub-collector office burning case on Thursday.

Additional Judge of SDJM court Bikram Kumar acquitted all the accused including a woman due to lack of evidence.  

Earlier on March 28 – 2004, the son of sub-collector Sarat Ch. Mohanty had allegedly killed a peon by lynching him with a cricket bat. This had infuriated the locals and they set the Sub-collector office on fire and beaten the Nilgiri Sub-collector and Collector of Balasore.
