Ballia (UP): Three persons were sentenced to four years rigorous imprisonment by a court here for assaulting a Dalit family in 1993.

Additional Sessions Judge Brijendra Singh held Ramashray, Chandrashekhar and Heera guilty yesterday and also imposed a penalty of Rs 5,000 each on them.

The trio had attacked Shivmangal, his wife and son Suresh with sticks in November, 1993 leaving them injured.
